  1. Log into your BatchData account. From the left hand side menu, click on Services.

  2. Click on Property Skip Trace.

  3. Click on Bulk Skip Trace.

  4. Click on the highlighted area to open a dialogue box to select the file which needs to be skip traced, alternatively, you can simply drop a file in this area, and it will upload automatically.

  5. Verify the name of the file to ensure the correct file has been uploaded, then click on the proceed icon.

  6. You'll be shown the field mapping options (some fields may be picked automatically by the system). Ensure that 'Source fields' are mapped to 'Destination fields' correctly.

  7. In order to change an incorrectly mapped destination field, click on the dropdown corresponding to the incorrectly mapped destination field and select the correct one from the dropdown.

  8. In case there is a field that you do not want to import, select 'Do not Import' from the destination fields' dropdown.

  9. Once you're satisfied with the mapping of the Source fields & Destination fields, click on the proceed icon.

  10. Enter a name for your list, and verify the data & field mappings being uploaded, one last time in the sample data section.

  11. If there is something wrong with the field mappings, or the sample data, you can always go back to the previous step to make changes by clicking on the go back to previous step icon.

  12. Once you're satisfied with the sample data and data field mappings, click on the proceed icon.

  13. On this screen, carefully review the order details. Some of the key details to note are total no. of records eligible for skip tracing, Cost per matched record, Total cost. Once you're satisfied with the details, click on the Pay button.
(For users with a skip trace subscription, cost details will not populate, and you will be able to Proceed with placing your order, as the skip tracing order would go towards your skip trace subscription access).

    * For more details on Subscriptions, please reach out to Sales (sales@batchservice.com).

  14. Once you click on Pay (or Proceed in case of users with active skip trace subscription), you'll be shown a success message on the top right corner of your screen.

  15. You'll be automatically redirected to your Property Skip Trace dashboard. You'll be able to see the order details on this page.
(In this screen, the order is currently being processed, as demarcated by the sign under the Status column).

  16. Come back to the Property Skip Trace dashboard after some time (different orders take different amount of time to process, depending on file size, server load, etc.). Once the order has been successfully completed, you'll see the Status Updated to a tick mark designating that the order has been successfully processed. Click on the download icon in the Actions column next to your order, to download the output file.

FAQs

  1. Order is taking too long to process, what do I do?
Please refrain from placing the same order again, as you might end up being charged again for the same order. Please wait for up to 3 hours in the case of large files (most orders are generally completed within minutes).
If you feel that something doesn't look right, and order is taking too long despite a smaller batch size, reach out to the support team.

  2. My orders keep on failing, what do I do?
Some of the most common causes of orders failing are as follows:

    1. Presence of empty rows & columns in the file being uploaded.

    2. Presence of special characters in the file being uploaded.

    3. Malformed headers of the Excel/CSV file being uploaded.

    4. The file format is not compatible.

If you're facing any issues while performing these actions, please reach out to our support team by clicking on the Help Center icon on the bottom left corner of the screen, or write us at support@batchdata.com.
